Once you know that, head to the Shop page to place your deposit. Orders are due June 1st of each year if you want to guarantee your spot in April.
We require a deposit due to the cost and investment involved in finishing each steer - however - this means that each of our beeves is raised to order specifically for our customers. Beef can be pre ordered anytime but are beef is normally available in April-June for pick up and delivery.
Grass Fed
Batteate Grass Finished Beef, goes straight from the field to processing. All of our cattle are free-range from start to finish, however our grass fed cattle finish out on the same natural pastures they were born.
The flavor profile of grass fed beef is known to be more complex and nuanced than grain fed, partly due to the composition of micro-nutrients in the fat. People who favor grass fed enjoy it for its beefiness
Grass fed beef is leaner than grain fed beef, and contains less saturated fat. It also boasts a high concentration of B vitamins, is typically higher in vitamins A, E, & other antioxidants, and it contains more omega-3 & omega-6 fatty acids.
